Again the hope is lived in prison.
If a few days ago we talked about the confirmations in the Murcia II Penitentiary Center, in Campos del Río, in which the auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena encouraged the 62 inmates who received the sacrament of Confirmation to dream, again the Spirit Santo has spilled, but this time in the Prison Center Murcia I, in Sangonera la Verde.
Last Saturday, 23 inmates of Sangonera prison received the sacrament of Confirmation from the Bishop of Cartagena, Bishop José Manuel Lorca Planes, who encouraged them to live the hope: "God is going to do a miracle that will reach your heart.
There is hope for you, none of you were born to be in this prison forever.
You can be true witnesses of hope in the midst of this world. "
Bishop Lorca invited those present to remain in the love of God, "to truly live freedom as a precious gift that God has given us."
After a year of formation, in charge of the chaplains and volunteers of the Penitentiary Pastoral of this center, this celebration took place, which according to the volunteer Sara Martínez, is part of the end of the course of this center, since it has been celebrated for years this sacrament on Easter.
"As soon as we stepped into the chapel, we could see how the Holy Spirit had truly been spilled in each one of the confirmands and in all those who were accompanying them on this very significant day," explains Sara Martínez.
The director and assistant director of the center also participated in the celebration, as well as the chief of services and the judge of Penitentiary Surveillance.
