The University of Murcia, through the BioGID innovation group of the Faculty of Biology, organizes the second BioBlitz day 'Marathon of biodiversity: discover and investigate the campus', which will take place this Saturday, June 1, at the Faculty of Biology of the Espinardo campus.
The event, intended for the general public, will host a total of 40 people and will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A Bioblitz is a participatory citizen science event whose objective is to inspect a specific territory to inventory its biodiversity and register as many species as possible during a continuous period of time.
It is an effective way to connect the public with the environment while generating useful data for science and conservation.
During the day there will be a sampling of birds using nets for ringing and a botanical itinerary.
The identified species will be included in the first inventory of diversity of the Espinardo Campus, derived from the BioBlitz days that are in the preparation phase.
