The Catholic University of Murcia graduated to the second class of University Technician in Cooking and Gastronomy in Cuba, thanks to the project 'The Cuban Currency: Training Program for Youth', recognized in 2016 with the 'Award for Excellence'.
Through this program, students, who have neither work nor professional training, can perform different training cycles under the umbrella of the UCAM, specializing in different areas such as cooking, cuisine, languages ​​or protocol.
Antonio Alcaraz, Vice Chancellor of University Extension of the UCAM, was present at the graduation ceremony;
Gonzalo Wandosell, dean of the Faculty of Legal and Business Sciences of the UCAM;
Pablo Gómez, professor of the Degree in Gastronomy of the UCAM, and representatives of the gastronomic sector of Cuba.
It must be remembered that the Catholic University has been teaching postgraduate courses for eleven years in collaboration with Cuban institutions in the ecclesiastical, academic, social and scientific fields.
Public interest request
Also related to the work being carried out by the UCAM in Cuba, it is worth mentioning the letter sent by Ángel Aguilera, president of the Catedral Popular Council, in Old Havana, and coordinator of the 'La Moneda Cubana Local Development Project', in the that it requests that the Catholic University of Murcia be recognized as of public interest for its contribution through social projects carried out in the capital of the Caribbean country.
