Gregorio Sánchez, head of the ANECA Faculty Evaluation Division, participates in the II Training Conference for Researchers in Economics and Business at the UMU.
Gregorio Sánchez, Professor of Business Organization at the UMU and Head of the ANECA Faculty Evaluation Division, gave a talk on faculty evaluation at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the UMU this Friday.
Sánchez began with a presentation of the evaluation programs of the agency: PEP program (evaluates the CV of the applicants for access to the figures of hired university professor), Academia program (Evaluates the CV for access to the bodies of university teaching staff ), CNEAI program (Evaluation of the research sections).
In this preamble, Professor Sánchez highlighted the importance of research for the generation of knowledge and is one of the main quality indicators used by the agencies that elaborate the international rankings of universities.
In this sense, Professor Sanchez has ensured that the position of the Spanish University in international rankings is good, if we put it in relation to its relative size and the investment in R & D carried out historically.
His presentation began with an analysis of the temporal evolution of the applications in the different programs, beginning with the evaluation of the "sexenios" of research, showing a growing trend of the requests for evaluation, and each year with better success rates.
Regarding the Academia program, he conducted a comparative analysis of the evolution of the different areas of knowledge, showing a similar situation, a higher success rate in recent years.
These two indicators together, highlight the growing research effort and dissemination of this research carried out by researchers of the Spanish university system.
The Faculty of Economics and Business has hosted the II Training Conference for Researchers and PhD students in Economics and Business.
During these days, through a set of monographic talks, they answer relevant research questions, such as the transfer of their results, the advantages of interdisciplinary research, the strategies to successfully complete the research process, the evaluation of the curriculum. in the economic and business sciences, the design of the professional career or the appropriate way to request projects, grants and research contracts.
In addition to the monographic talks, the workshops are complemented by a style course in academic writing, which studies those techniques that are most effective to achieve success in the publication of scientific manuscripts.
In the closing talk we will have the presence of Mr. Gregorio Sánchez Marín, Professor of Business Organization of the UMU and Head of the Division of Teacher Evaluation of the ANECA (National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation).
The conference is a forum for debate and an excellent opportunity to discuss and share issues related to research in the areas of Economics or Business Sciences.
They are of special importance for doctoral students, as they provide some clues that allow the proper progress of their academic career.
During the conference will take place various lectures, which will deal in a monographic manner on particular issues related to the research activity, such as the transfer of research results, research strategies, projects and research contracts, teacher evaluation, research interdisciplinary or the planning of the academic career of the research staff.
