The Councilor for Modernization of Administration and Urban Development, José Guillén, accompanied this morning to students of the Antonio Día de Los Garres school in the plantation of native trees that they have made in the hamlet.
Thus, schoolchildren have planted a fortnight of pines in Juan Carlos I street of the district, an initiative that is born from a work that has been done in his class of 3rd Primary that this year consists of the environment.
Pine is a variety that adapts easily to the climate of the municipality and provides shadows in a short space of time.
Guillen pointed out that "large urban trees are excellent filters for contaminants and small particles." Spending time near trees improves physical and mental health by increasing energy levels, while stress decreases.
The councilor stressed that "the smallest are, with this initiative, those who raise awareness among the elderly, we must emphasize their attitude of respect for nature and their interest so that together we can continue working to make Murcia more livable and sustainable" .
Guillén has ended by encouraging schoolchildren to "continue working and taking initiatives like this to protect and respect the natural environment."
