Continuing with the frantic activity developed by each and every one of the members of Plural Democracy to try to gain a foothold in our Region.
This morning, our head of list to the Regional Assembly, Francisco Miguel Muñoz, along with two candidates also Elena Baeza and Sofía Peñaranda, have visited the "Psychic Handicapped Center" existing in the hamlet of Cabezo de Torres.
An initiative of Fundown called "School of Life".
With their manager, Mr. Pedro Martínez López, they have made a guided tour of the center's facilities after having discussed the activities, operation, projects of this center, as well as their demands and needs.
The center has various units devoted to training activities, areas for common activities as well as a residential area consisting of 12 homes, where 12 young people with mental disabilities, each live with two mediators in a real environment, in order to complete their training so that they can integrate with total normality in daily life;
the coexistence is developed in modules similar to a student housing, under conditions of equality, from a normalizing perspective of the difference, according to the normal patterns of autonomy and independence of any adult.
Francisco Miguel Muñoz commented at the end of the visit his enormous surprise for the commendable work that is done in the center and that is totally unknown by almost all of Murcia.
Plural Democracy has expressed its willingness to collaborate and help in all those demands that are within its possibilities to guarantee the continuity of the work carried out.
