Margarita Guerrero, second on the list of Murcia Change, said today that, to govern, one of the initiatives that will carry out its training will be to build new youth centers in order to promote a responsible leisure against the proliferation of bookmakers .
The mayor recalled that, despite being the seventh city in Spain in population, in the municipality there are only three centers of this type, in El Palmar, Bacons Bridge and Santa Maria de Gracia, in front of more than 300 gaming rooms.
"A youth center in Ronda Sur, for example, could serve in one of the areas with the most infrastructure deficit," he said.
"We must develop leisure alternatives for young people, especially in districts where the poor transport system makes mobility very difficult," he added.
In addition, since Cambiemos Murcia have cited a report report Project Man that a few months ago warned that in 2018 doubled the number of cases of young people between 13 and 24 years who requested attention for problems related to the game.
In this regard, the mayor and candidate that Cambiemos Murcia will apply a moratorium to stop the opening of bookmakers in the municipality.
"It is necessary to recover youth competencies and put in place, as we proposed in a motion approved in 2015, a plan," Guerrero explained, "integral policies are fundamental in which housing, health and education are included, always with the perspective of gender".
From the municipal training they consider that, although it is important, "youth policies have to go beyond the management of leisure and free time", so they have requested to recover the counseling service for associations.
In this sense, the candidate has concluded, "it is important to emphasize that the administration must facilitate the participation mechanisms also for young people".
