The professor of the Department of Fine Arts of the UMU, Clara Boj, is curator with Diego Díaz of the exhibition 'Lagunas, projects and processes of art and science in the Mar Menor', which can be visited at the Puertas de Castilla cultural center until may 24th.
This sample collects the projects carried out during the last two years in the research project of the University of Murcia 'Reset: Mar Menor.
Imaginary laboratory for a landscape in crisis.
This three-year project is configured as an open and interdisciplinary working group composed of artists, scientists and people interested in the Mar Menor and its surroundings.
The premise that is part is to understand the visual arts as triggers of thought and critical action, essential aspects to imagine collectively and activate alternative stories for this territory.
The exhibition features the work of prestigious international artists such as Paul Sermon, pioneer of digital art, and Christina Stadlbauer, both selected through an open call and whose proposal is the result of the research stay held last September in the Mar Menor
The 'Laboratorio de Luz' research group of the Polytechnic University of Valencia also participates in the exhibition with an audiovisual experimentation work from underwater sounds registered in the lagoon.
To these proposals is added the work of living arts created by Jesús Nieto, from the company 'Onírica Mecánica', which speculates with a future time in his work 'RonemRam' and that of the Murcian artist Salvi Vivancos, who plays with memory starting of archive images filmed in super 8. The exhibition is completed by the works of researchers from the University of Murcia, Aurora Alcayde and Pedro Ortuño, together with curators Clara Boj and Diego Díaz.
