The Governing Board approves a framework agreement with Murcia Alta Velocidad to carry out the studies and planning, urban management and urbanization projects in the neighborhoods surrounding the roads.

Among the plans that will be undertaken is the project of the new bus station and underground parking and traffic studies.

The Governing Board has given its approval to the text of the framework agreement with the company Murcia Alta Velocidad (MAV) that gives the City Council the capacity to carry out the studies and planning, urban management and urbanization projects in the neighborhoods surrounding the routes., according to the purposes of the protocol of 2006 and its addendum that was approved yesterday.

In this way, the City Council will assume the direction and supervision of the works, being also responsible for the control and quality of its execution.

The agreement includes the updating and adaptation of the action program, reparcelling projects and urbanization project that were drafted on behalf of Murcia AV.

Likewise, it entrusts the drafting of the urbanization works projects of the railway spaces, currently public, that will be disaffected on the occasion of the action of railway integration in the urban area of ​​the city, through the opportune burial of the roads, as well as of the spaces that are located east and west.

The City Council will also be in charge of traffic studies and provisional deviations of traffic actions that are necessary during the execution of the underground works of the roads, as well as the study of reorganization of the intersection of the «Ronda Sur de Murcia »And its overpass on the current railway space.

Likewise, the project of Bus Station and underground parking will be drafted.

Calendar and follow-up commission

The next step will be the approval of addenda between Murcia AV and the City of Murcia, which will specify the purpose of the work and who will do it, as well as the constitution of a mixed commission to monitor each action, calendar, work plan and program of actions and payment method.

The tenders, in case that is not acted through the City's own means, will be carried out by Murcia AV, acting both parties in a coordinated and consensual manner, both in the preparatory acts of the files and in their adjudication.

The estimated and maximum cost of the projects amounts to € 5.1 million.

Of this amount, the urbanization projects, topographic and traffic studies, and the corresponding work addresses have an estimated total cost of 2.6 M €, while the budget of the bus station and parking -redaction of the project and address of work- amounts to almost 2.2 M €.

In addition, the cost for quality control and east and west urbanization is € 294,000.
