The Degree in Psychology of the UCAM has organized the first days of 'Psychology and Profession' that are directed to the students of the Catholic University.
This act aims to guide students in their training to facilitate their employment.
Five students graduated from different promotions, who have had experiences of their current work, were present at the first table.
"This table has been very enlightening for the students, since they have been able to ask questions to the graduates and have given them clues as to where they can focus their future work" explains Ana Isabel López Navas, Vice Dean of Psychology.
María José Tocino Benavente, former European champion weightlifter and manager of Wellness Health & Fitness, a personal health and wellness training center, has participated in the conference explaining the importance of accompanying the sports psychologist throughout the career of a elite athlete.
"In high-performance sport it is essential that there are psychological therapies to help the athlete to boost their performance, overcome their fears and have more confidence in themselves," says the athlete, who also recalls that sports psychology is key in the moment in which athletes stop training to adapt to normal life.
"There is a lot of pressure on the part of the coaches and the media, overcoming your marks is the main fear of the athlete, so the increase in confidence is essential, psychology gives you a plus to overcome psychological barriers. to the technique ", concludes María José Benavente.
During the conference, the expositions of the Final Degree Projects and Master's Degree Final Projects were also held.
From the direction of the Degree in Psychology have wanted to frame the presentations of students in this act.
