For the fourth consecutive year, the Silk Garden will become next Sunday the place of celebration of the International Day of the Family, with activities programmed by the Department of Social Rights and Development Cooperation, together with the Ministry of Family and Equality of Opportunities, and the collaboration of 55 associations and NGOs.
From 10 am, parents, children and children can enjoy a fun and festive meeting, with a full program of activities prepared especially for fun, leisure and learning for the little ones.
There will be music and creative and artistic workshops of free access that will work simultaneously.
The offer will be varied to satisfy the interests of minors.
In this way, they can participate in painting workshops, environment, ceramic pendants and plates, dance, skill games, crafts, balloon twisting, puppets, recycling, yoga, juggling or graffiti workshop.
In addition, the Once will explain the social awareness of the work of the guide dog, the firemen will make a display of costumes and elements of use of the professionals and the Canine Unit of the National Police will make an exhibition at 11:00 hours.
During the presentation, the Councilor for Social Rights and Development Cooperation, Conchita Ruiz, who has been accompanied by the general director of Family and Social Policies, Miriam Pérez Albaladejo, explained that "our goal with the organization of this day, which we celebrate for the fourth consecutive year, it is to vindicate the fundamental role of the family as the basic nucleus of our society, and we intend to do so in an atmosphere of joy and fun in which fathers and mothers will enjoy their children ".
The International Day of the Family is celebrated every year on May 15 since 1994, after the previous year was proclaimed this date by agreement of the General Assembly of the United Nations, echoing the importance that the international community gives to the family.

Ruiz also wanted to thank the collaboration of the 55 associations that have joined this festive day 'because without their help and involvement it would have been impossible to make this day a reality'.
