"Many of them need a comprehensive and coordinated response, and through this plan we will detect specific situations of unwanted loneliness and perform different actions that improve their quality of life," he said.

Senior City

Another proposal referred to Mario Gómez is the creation of a 'Senior City', "a large residential development designed and adapted to the elderly so they can enjoy all basic services, and receive comprehensive care, with commercial and leisure areas, so that they can enjoy an active life and in company ".

To launch this initiative, the Cs candidate has clarified, "we are going to take the necessary steps for public-private financing of this large residential area and a medium / long-term planning".

Home care

The head of the list has announced the creation of a Plan of Integral Home Care for the elderly that promotes their personal autonomy in the performance of their home tasks and delay their internment in geriatric institutions and stop the aggravation of their dependence.

Modernize the centers for the elderly

Another of the issues highlighted by the orange training candidate is to strengthen administrative support to the Boards of Directors of the 78 elderly centers in the municipality.

"Many times they find themselves alone and without knowing where and to whom to turn for such simple matters as fixing an air conditioner or presenting a grant project, with the bureaucracy that this entails."

Another of our medium-term objectives is to convert older centers into more modern, accessible, friendly and attractive spaces.

"They have not changed their appearance, operation and management in the last thirty years.

Of the 90,000 Murcians over 60, only 30,000 are members of these centers, our goal is to transform them and turn them into adapted meeting points to share experiences, leisure and various activities.
