The Vía Verde will host on Saturday, May 18, the first race that will run this infrastructure, after last March held a yincana, and in which the attendance of more than 300 people is expected.
This race and solidarity march Vía Verde-Costera Sur, in favor of Cáritas Torreagüera, is organized by the Correpormurcia Sports Association in collaboration with the City of Murcia.
The start and finish of the race, which will begin at 6.30 pm, will be located at the Apeadero de Renfe de Beniaján.
The participation cost of the 14k Popular Race is 10 euros, and of the 8k Solidarity March and the 8k Popular Race is 5 euros.
The registration period for card payments is open until Thursday, May 16 at 8:00 p.m.
The collection of numbers and chip timing devices will be made in the Murcia West Sewer Decathlon, on Friday May 17 from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm uninterrupted hours and Saturday May 18 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm hours while the day of the test can be collected in the departure area from 17:00 hours and up to 15 minutes before the start of the test.
This race will cover the space of the Greenway recovered by the Town Hall that runs through Alquerías, Los Ramos, Torreagüera, Beniaján, San José de la Vega, Los Garres and Los Dolores.
The new Vía Verde becomes the largest in the Region of Murcia with a length of 8.5 km and an area of ​​40,000 square meters, which runs through the districts of the South Mountain Range, in an accessible route for pedestrians and cyclists alike , with a width of 5 meters.
Along the length and breadth of the Green Path, 1,800 trees of 25 different species are being planted, among them some large trees such as pines, palms and cypresses.
