The candidate for mayor of the municipality for the Socialist Party, José Antonio Serrano, presented on Friday the MÁS FICA project, an initiative to provide the municipality with a fairground that allows Murcia to enjoy a permanent space for events, freeing the pressure currently suffering from the BIC environment of the promenade and Botanical Garden of El Malecón.
"Murcia deserves a fairground in conditions, a wide space that hosts the traditional fairs and markets of our parties and that, in addition, encourage the recovery of the bank of the river Segura incorporating and enhancing the garden," said the candidate.
Serrano highlighted the importance of a project that, together with Nature Barriomar, will offer the municipality two large metropolitan parks.
"MORE FICA will be a lung for the municipality, an enclave not only aimed at hosting events, but also to revalue the natural space that we have for Murcia, Murcia and visitors to enjoy a unique natural environment, which will mark the closure of the itinerary that follows the river as it passes through the city of Murcia, "Serrano said.
MORE FICA will have facilities for events, such as concerts or attractions, as well as a large park in which the river margin will have special importance.
Green paths, riverbank forest areas, orchards managed by citizens and perfectly integrated natural garden plots will make up the fairgrounds.
The socialist candidate has assured that this initiative is part of a global plan for "a modern, solidary and sustainable Murcia".
"Of course, MÁS FICA is an idea open to the participation of neighbors and, especially, of the festive groups: sardiner groups, peñas huertanas, Moors and Christians.We want to know their contributions and we are going to invite them to be part of this project".
Serrano has ensured that, with his feet on the ground, this initiative is realistic and viable, and recalled that "Murcia is the seventh municipality in Spain and deserves to have a space like the one we proposed, which will not change the normal course of our Spring Festival or the parades and regular parades through the streets of our town. "
Finally, the candidate for mayor of Murcia has emphasized the importance of having a socialist government in Moncloa: "Socialists have shown that, when we govern, we fulfill what was promised and that, with a socialist government in Spain, Murcia We always know that we have the support of the Government of Spain to carry out this and other important projects for our municipality.
