The Monastery of Los Jerónimos has been the place where the Higher Institute of Vocational Training San Antonio has organized the 'I Meeting UCAM FP-Empresas'.
The event was attended by more than 60 companies from very diverse sectors, all related to the nine training cycles taught by UCAM FP.
José Alarcón, director of the Higher Institute of Professional Training San Antonio has highlighted the presence of companies attending the event.
"We consider that the part of the practical training that is carried out in the companies by the students is very important and, therefore, we thank them for their collaboration in the training of the students", explained José Alarcón.
FP Dual
José Alarcón has also commented that another of the objectives of the day has been to publicize the Dual FP, through which the students of UCAM FP have the possibility of opting for "paid internships in companies where they have the possibility of continue working once that period ends ".
He also explained that "in the case of FP degrees, students have around 400 hours of practice, but in Dual FP it is about 660 hours that can be up to 800, which will make the students know much better the environment in which they are going to move and facilitate their future incorporation into the labor market ".
José Alarcón has also commented on the possibility that UCAM FP students have to do internships abroad.
"We have had students who have done internships in companies from foreign countries such as the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Malta and Poland, among others, which is very enriching for the student".
Finally, he stressed that UCAM FP has students from countries such as Colombia, Argentina, El Salvador, Honduras, Morocco, Haiti and China, who come to study at the Campus of Los Jerónimos.
"The arrival of foreign students is supported by the presence and good image of the UCAM in all the international fairs in which it participates", concluded José Alarcón.
