The Governing Board has approved the public announcement and bases for the granting of these subsidies, whose budget amounts to 414,623 euros, which will also assess educational programs, health, human rights and social participation, among others.
The cooperation projects whose objectives contribute to the achievement and fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will be a priority in the distribution of aid granted by the City Council, whose convocation has been approved today by the Governing Board.
In addition, as stated in the bases, those programs that promote cooperation actions focused on the following areas will be evaluated:
- Educational.
- Sanitary.
- Human rights.
- Participation and social promotion.
- Productive.
- Infrastructure.
- Environment.
- Governance.
- Empowerment of women.
- Gender equality.
- Food safety.
- Education for Development (EPD) and temporary shelter of children from developing countries.
Likewise, those transversal aspects of the project that contribute to the promotion of gender equity, human rights and respect for the environment will be valued.
International cooperation
The objective of the call for cooperation, education and awareness-raising projects for development is to grant subsidies for a double scope.
On the one hand, to the financing and execution of actions of International Cooperation for Development, whose purpose is to satisfy the needs of collectives or disadvantaged areas of developing countries;
and, on the other hand, it also attends to the realization of education and awareness projects for development in the municipality of Murcia.
Both in one case and in another, they are programs presented by non-governmental development organizations, entities, institutions and non-profit associations established in the municipality of Murcia.
Investment expenses
The available budget amounts to 414,623 euros -389,000 euros in the previous call-, of which 350,000 euros will be used exclusively to finance investment expenses -construction of health centers, schools, water wells, etc.- of cooperation projects development, while 64,623 euros will be allocated for education and awareness-raising projects for development.
In this case, directed to fungible expenses, among them, courses, seminars, days, temporary reception of countries from developing countries, and activities in general that are directed to sensitize the Murcian population of the needs of developing countries.
The term for the presentation of the projects will be ten days from the publication of the announcement in the Bulletin of the Region of Murcia.
The requirements that must be met by organizations and institutions that wish to benefit from this call are:
a) Have legal personality and ability to act and be duly registered in the Registry of Associations, Foundations, or any other public nature, at least two years before the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia.
b) Have an open office in the municipality, and be registered and updated in the Municipal Register of Citizen Associations of the City of Murcia before the publication of the call in the BORM.
c) Not to pursue profit or to depend economically or institutionally on lucrative entities or Public Administrations.
d) Have sufficient structure and human and material resources to ensure compliance with their social purposes and be able to accredit the experience and operational capacity that are necessary to achieve the objectives proposed in the project.
e) To have as institutional objectives the realization of activities of cooperation to the development and promotion of solidarity among the peoples or demonstrate in a reliable way that the entity acts continuously in this area.
Own resources
Projects must be co-financed with their own resources and / or other organizations or institutions, and must guarantee that they have the capacity to make the difference between the subsidy requested from the City Council and the entire project that will be executed.
The procedure of concession is in competitive concurrency regime, and the projects are directed to their execution in the developing countries, classified by the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation to the Development (AECID) or in the list of countries of the Committee of Aid to the Development (CAD) of the beneficiary countries of ODA.
