More than 200 people have participated today in the 'Republican Bando' organized by Cambio de la Región de Murcia -space of confluence in which IU-Greens and Anticapitalists will participate in the next regional elections-;
the Communist Party and the Communist Youth in the headquarters they share in the neighborhood of El Carmen.
Among others, they have assisted the regional coordinator of IU-Greens and candidate for the presidency of the Autonomous Community, José Luis Álvarez-Castellanos;
the councilors and candidates to the City of Murcia for Change Murcia, Sergio Ramos and Margarita Guerrero, and number 2 of United We can Congress, Esther Herguedas, as well as militants and supporters.
Álvarez-Castellanos has pointed out that the 'Republican side' is a meeting point for militancy, sympathizers and friends who, in this case, "also serves as an organizational reinforcement in order to intensify the motivation for an electoral cycle that will be long and that we face with a lot of hope and optimism ".
The head of list for Change the Region has indicated that this is "a day of celebration and, at the same time, of vindication" since to the mere festive roots of the Bando adds the fact that the traditional Murcian garden deserves to be preserved for its landscape, environmental and socioeconomic value from the point of sustainability.
In this regard, Álvarez-Castellanos stressed the importance of the new text of the Statute of Autonomy to include among the guiding principles of regional policy one of the proposals that IU-Green presented in 2013 within the committee dedicated to this document in the autonomic Parliament, through the ex-deputy José Antonio Pujante.
Specifically, the text is included in article 29.28 and says: "The public authorities shall promote the promotion and protection of the uses and activities of the traditional garden as a space of great productive, environmental and cultural value".
