The Bando de la Huerta parade gathers this Tuesday, April 23, the festive expression of the huertanas traditions with the vanguard of the agriculture of the Region of Murcia, through Proexport and its associated companies.
The horticultural association will be supporting the parade with a representation under the title "From the field to the table", which will show some of the crops of fruits and vegetables of the Region of Murcia that today fill the tables of millions of homes around the world.
"For me, it is a pride to represent the Huerta de Europa and together with Proexport horticultural producers, transfer to the whole society the importance that agriculture has had in our Region since the past," said Reina de la Huerta 2019, Isabel López, thanking the collaboration that Proexport and its associated companies are lending to the acts of the Peñas Huertanas Federation.
According to the director of Proexport, Fernando P. Gómez, "in the history that is remembered in the Bando de la Huerta are the origins of what today represents agriculture in the Region of Murcia.
Thanks to the impetus and innovation that new generations of farmers have brought, we can continue to speak of Murcia as the Huerta de Europa.
From Proexport we wanted to join an event so linked to our traditions and give to those who come to Murcia these days with fruits and vegetables grown throughout the Region.
The floats of the peñas huertanas will be able to distribute the fresh products donated by the Proexport associates and in this way "the agriculture of the entire Region will be present in the city of Murcia to support the traditions from which it emerged".
In addition, in the effort to promote healthy eating of children, Proexport will also show in the parade the campaign that encourages school children to increase their consumption of fruits and vegetables.
