The Community calls for citizen collaboration to facilitate the performance of health teams and enjoy the day without excess
The Emergency and Emergencies Management 061 of the Region has organized a special device that reinforces its human and material resources to ensure proper healthcare tomorrow in Murcia on the occasion of the celebration of Bando de la Huerta.
To deal with possible incidents, hospital emergency and extrahospital services in the capital will be reinforced with two Medical Emergency Units (UME), which will be added to the five that already operate regularly in the city of Murcia.
These reinforcing EMUs will be integrated by a doctor, nurse and technician in health emergencies.
In addition, there will be a rapid intervention vehicle (VIR), equipped with a nurse and emergency medical technician, who will be prepared to reach places of difficult access and provide health care there.
The Emergency Coordination Center (CCU) will also be reinforced with a coordinating doctor, a nurse and a technician in health emergencies.
The nurse coordinator of the CCU, designated exclusively for this event, will be in charge under the supervision of the chief medical coordinator of the guard, of the management of all matters related to the Bando de la Huerta.
This extraordinary device also has the collaboration of personnel from the General Directorate of Citizen Security and Emergencies and volunteers from the Local Assembly of the Red Cross and Civil Protection of Murcia, who will work in coordination with professionals of the Murcian Health Service.
The purpose of this operation is "to be able to give immediate and effective attention to any event that may occur during the day of celebration of the Bando de la Huerta," said the director of the Emergency and Sanitary Emergencies Management 061, Francisco Celdrán, who requested the cooperation of citizens to streamline the work of the professionals that make up this device.
Celdrán recalled that the majority of attentions in this festive day are caused by alcohol poisonings, wounds, syncopes or lipotimias and traumatisms.
In 2018, 296 health care visits were made, 52 more than in 2017. Of these, 112 were alcohol intoxications, with a greater incidence in ages between 15 and 35 years.
They also highlight six cases in children under 14, which is 5 percent.
31.7 percent of those served were men and 56.7 percent were women.
There were also cases of injuries, anxiety, pain, respiratory distress and traumas, among others.
For this reason, Celdrán insisted on the "need to enjoy the day without excesses" and requested citizen collaboration to facilitate the action of the health personnel during the day of Bando de la Huerta.
