The Spring Festival will have six violent points, to which will be added another to be installed during the WARM Festival, in order to inform, raise awareness and prevent sexist attitudes and behavior against women.
There are also spaces for security and accompaniment for victims of sexist or sexual violence that the City of Murcia enables during the Spring Festival.
These violet points will have volunteer staff registered in the municipal offices of volunteers of the three Municipal Social Services Centers, who request to participate in the project and receive the necessary training and information that is given from the Women Section of the Department of Social Rights and Development Cooperation.
In this way young people from each of the districts of the municipality will be able to participate as volunteers, "which will have a positive impact for equality and social transformation, since it supposes beyond creating a space for youth participation, giving them the option to take an active position in the rejection and denunciation of macho attitudes and behaviors and therefore move towards a structural change in the conception and perception of micro-machismo ", explained Councilor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz.
For the development of this campaign we also count on the collaboration of Civil Protection, Red Cross and Local Police services and with three professionals in each point specialized in equality and gender violence prevention.
The hiring of this personnel is financed with the subsidy of the State Pact against Gender Violence 2019.
For these festivities the installation of 5 violet points has been estimated: in the Pre-Bando festival, in the Fofó Park, on April 22 from 6 to 10 pm;
during the Bando de la Huerta, in the Plaza de la Universidad from 13 a.m. to 21 p.m. and in the FICA Fairgrounds in the Concert of the Repanocha from 12:30 a.m. to 10.30 p.m.
