The Beniaján Station received last Friday, April 12, the half thousand students of the CEIP Ntra. Mrs. de la Fuensanta in a day of meeting and coexistence in favor of the environment, with the Greenway of the Cordillera as protagonist
The event was organized by the educational center in collaboration with the community development center of Cepaim Foundation in Beniaján, starting with a march through the pedestrian corridor and cyclist that runs through the town, the Greenway of the Cordillera, very close to the enclosure school of La Fuensanta.
The walk started from the school and arrived at La Estación de Beniaján, where there was an act of welcome to the entire school community by the Cepaim Foundation Center Coordinator in Murcia, the director of the educational center and the mayor of the school. Beniaján
It was then when a representation of the students handed over to the mayor of a letter with suggestions and contributions collected by the children to improve the town in terms of the environment, such as influencing the cleaning of streets, squares and gardens, or incorporate an itinerary local cyclist whose design had also been worked in the classrooms.
Another contribution was the placement that morning of a plaque with rules and suggestions for use of the Vía Verde, also proposed by the students, being visible from the corridor.
For its part, the Municipal Board delivered a souvenir backpack to the participating children.
After lunch, Cepaim's technical and volunteer staff organized a series of workshops and activities in La Estación, through which the groups of schoolchildren rotated: audiovisual projection with environmental themes, games about recycling and decoration of the fence community center with elements made by the students with recycled materials, forming the slogan "VI (D) A VERDE".
There was also the collaboration of teachers and parents, mothers and relatives who wanted to join the event.
Music and dancing were not lacking in a day full of joy and good wishes in favor of Nature and of increasingly healthier and cleaner cities, a horizon that we will only reach with the commitment of the institutions and, above all, of each One of the people that populate the planet, starting with the place we inhabit in our day to day.
The return to school was made again by the Greenway, ending one of the most participative events that are remembered in the station, framed in the project "Periferia Sur" that funds the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities of the Region of Murcia
