The University of Murcia will be this Friday, April 12, host of the Spanish University Championship of Olympic Wrestling.
The Center for Sports Technification 'Infanta Cristina' of Los Narejos (Los Alcázares) will host more than 100 athletes from 17 universities throughout Spain.
The competition will start at 10.30 am and the matches will take place without interruption throughout the day.
Numerous national and international medalists will attend this tournament.
In this sport, the UMU was champion in the edition of last year held in Jaén and, this year, the UMU team dreams of revalidating its throne of combat.
Lorena Lera, from the Faculty of Biochemistry and champion of Spain Absolute, or José Francisco Soler, champion sub23 of Spain, will be some of the representatives of the UMU team that will fight for the medals.
Both the city of Los Alcázares and the University of Murcia have focused on the preparation and organization of this important sporting event that will be broadcast live through the LaLigaSports channel on the internet.
The championship will grant the following classifications:
Individual male and female awards.
The winners of each category will be awarded the title of University Champions of Spain.
By universities.
A score will be established by universities, obtained from the sum of the points obtained in the male and female classifications.
