José Ballesta presides over the 'kick off' or launch meeting of the MiMurcia smart city project, with representatives of Red.es, of the UTE integrated by Telefónica and IECISA, municipal technicians and the University of Murcia.
The imminent technical implementation of the modernization and digital transformation activities of the city has been addressed.
The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, chaired this morning the 'kick off' or launch meeting of the project 'MiMurcia', beneficiary of the II Call for Smart Cities of Red.es, after the award made by this entity, a meeting in the one that has been approached the technical implantation of the performances of modernization and digital transformation of the city.
The Councilor for Modernization and Urban Development, José Guillén, representatives of the Directorate of Digital Public Services of Red.es, responsible for Telefónica and IECISA (UTE) awarded the contract for the development of the MiMurcia initiative: Your Smart City Council, Nearby, attended Open and Innovative 'with technicians from the City Council and the University of Murcia.
The initiative 'MiMurcia: Your Intelligent, Close, Open and Innovative City Council' has a budget of 7,999,018.82 euros, which will be contributed 69% by the current Ministry of Economy and Business, through Red.es, and by 31% by the City of Murcia, with the co-financing of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), in charge of the Multiregional Operational Program of Spain (POPE).
Among the actions that will be developed over the next 2 years and a half highlights the deployment of software for the Single Monitoring Center (CEUS), the brain of Murcia Smart City, which will be located on the ground floor of the Abenarabi building, from where the control room and management of control panels will be directed, also articulating as a center of attention and demonstration to the citizens.
From there will be managed the information received through the more than 100,000 sensors and 300 smart devices that will be installed in Murcia, as well as the system of monitors that will allow to unify the control of services: Abenarabi Avenue, in the Local Police Headquarters del Infante and in the municipal building in Glorieta de España.
Also, the technical meeting has addressed the implementation of the MiMurcia platform, the direct communication access portal for citizens and the definition of an Open Data portal to favor entrepreneurship with open data.
Also the installation of 50 new traffic cameras, information panels, connected parking meters, intelligent pedestrian crossings, telematics systems for irrigation, intelligent lighting ...
The necessary measures have also been contemplated for the extension of Wi-Fi coverage, the implementation of the Citizen Card, proximity marketing measures, mobile App and devices related to noise and the environment.
