The Labor Risk also has the collaboration of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena
The University of Murcia and the business group Terra Próspera have signed on Wednesday two collaboration agreements for the creation of two chairs in an act that took place in the office of the rector of the convalescence building.
The object of the first agreement, which also has the collaboration of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, is the creation of the Terra Próspera Group Chair of Occupational Risk Prevention.
The second purpose is the creation of the Terra Prosperous Gender and Work Group Chair.
As explained by Alicia Rubio, vice-chancellor of Employment, Entrepreneurship and Society of the UMU, the first chair seeks to promote the improvement of worker safety and health through the application of measures and activities necessary to prevent occupational hazards arising from working conditions.
The second focuses on the establishment of a space dedicated to research, training and dissemination in the field of equality at work, "a very important issue and where much remains to be done".
The vice-rector has emphasized that "one of the main lines of the institution focuses on promoting collaboration between the UMU and other public and private entities for the access and generation of scientific and technological knowledge, and its subsequent transfer to the productive system" .
In this regard, the chairs, totaling twenty-three with the signing of these two agreements, "constitute a perfect means to establish this type of strategic and lasting collaboration between the university, institutions and companies."
The director of Terra Próspera del Mediterráneo, Ana María López Oliva, has indicated that it is an honor for her company "to strengthen the collaboration with the UMU and the UPCT with the signing of these agreements, and thus have the opportunity to move hand in hand in these two very important subjects ".
For his part, Alejandro Díaz Morcillo, rector of the UPCT, has highlighted the importance of creating multidisciplinary chairs, especially if they have the collaboration of two universities.
The event was closed by the UMU's rector, José Luján, who thanked the promoters of both agreements and the Terra Próspera Group for their involvement in this project to "collaborate in two areas where citizens are asking for answers: the safety of workers and effective equality between women and men ".
