The Cultural and Social Center La Paz has published the book 'Containers of memory', an intervention project and social and anthropological research conducted during the months of February, March and October 2017.
Thanks to this project and with the participation of the Association of Popular Culture of the District of La Paz, it was explored and investigated in the memory of old people, to make them come out what they learned from the oral tradition and the daily life of other times and that now is collected in the publication
Thus, a project to recover sound, ethnographic and historical heritage has been carried out.
The book includes the memories, sensations and emotions of men and women who currently reside in La Paz but many come from other neighborhoods San Bartolomé, San Antolín, Santa Catalina, San Lorenzo, San Miguel, San Juan, San Nicolás or El Carmen and of districts of the huerta of Murcia like Rincón de Seca, Torreagüera, La Alberca, Patiño, Llano de Brujas, El Puntal, Casillas and Los Dolores;
and others from the regional geography such as Alhama de Murcia or Abanilla.
Likewise, people from other regions such as Seville, Barcelona, ​​Badajoz, Granada, Jaén, Gerona, Valladolid, La Coruña and Cádiz, who later settled in the neighborhood, participated in the project.
The book includes different sections such as the neighborhood, nicknames and nicknames, tastes and smells, sounds, songs and games and toys.
The Councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, Jesús Pacheco, who attended the presentation of 'Containers of Memory', explained that "through this project, it is intended to show the values ​​of life, the experiences of women and men who throughout the twentieth century developed an essential part of what they are today. "
