'Traffic safety is not a political issue, but a technical one, and the indications of the municipal services should prevail with regard to the measures to be adopted', explained the Councilor for Traffic, Security and Citizen Protection, Lola Sánchez, after the manifestations of the Association of Residents of Espinardo with regard to José Meseguer Professor Street.
In this case, the report prepared by the technicians states that 'the traffic on that street is not very intense and there are signs of speed limitation', as well as a mirror that allows safe incorporation to the road which, due to its dimensions, is not Lends to run.
On the other hand, they consider that the installation of ledges is not feasible since they could affect the traffic of other adjoining streets.
In addition, when the road is in a flood zone, bordered by curbs, and a wall of blocks, the provision of ledges could favor the stagnation of the water, generating an additional problem both to the circulation of vehicles and pedestrians and residents.
In any case, Lola Sanchez says she will continue working to determine what measures can be adopted and advances that Local Police will reinforce its inspection in this street to ensure that traffic regulations are complied with.
