The artist Sofía Bertomeu Hojberg brings to the exhibition hall of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Murcia (UMU) '(E / Scapes) to Tell Stories // (Landscapes / Escapes) to tell stories', an exhibition composed by visual and sound pieces.
The exhibition, which opens on Monday, April 8 at 1:00 pm, will have the presence of the artist with an experimental music performance and may be visited until May 31.
'(E / Scapes) to Tell Stories // (Landscapes / Escapes) to tell stories' consists of five sound works and two video installations, through which two-way play is played.
Sofía Bertomeu makes use of scape as a sense of landscape, but also conceives it as an emancipation of personal reality.
The exhibition, organized by the Vice Dean of Culture of the Faculty of Fine Arts, seeks to reclaim, once again, the need to support and make visible the proposals of young creators who are shaping contemporary culture.
In addition, it offers a boost to local creation and the strengthening of the immediate cultural fabric and counts on María Luz Ruiz Bañón, predoctoral researcher at the Séneca Foundation, as curator of the work.
Sofía Bertomeu graduated in Fine Arts and has a master's degree in History and Historical Heritage from the University of Murcia.
He also obtained a Leonardo da Vinci postgraduate scholarship in Rome.
As a multidisciplinary artist, working under self-management, he moves within the areas of conceptual sound art, video art, photography, painting, illustration and graphic and multimedia design.
In his projects, the recurring theme is identity, dissolved spaces and hidden and deep emotions.
Within her role as a musician, she stands out as a composer for audiovisual productions in film, television, advertising, theater and videogames.
In his most recent works we find his individual multimedia exhibition at CVU Batana (Rovinj, Croatia), the original soundtrack for 'Pyramiden' (Luis Endera, October 2018), the artistic residency at IN-SONORA (March 2018) or his participation at the re: flexions sound art festival (Augsburg, July 2018).
