After several decades of research in the areas of psychology and education, the Foundation Maternal presents this Friday at 12:00 h in the Hall of Degrees of the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Murcia (UMU) an innovative tool that allows to know the development of children from birth to 12 years.
The Harmonic Development Scale (EDA) is a computer application that can control how the development of children in different areas evolves, this being the first scale that measures it in a preventive manner.
"We believe that this tool is of scientific and social interest, it is useful for both mothers and fathers, as well as for researchers and professionals in education and children's health", explains Javier Abellán, professor of Evolutionary Psychology at UMU and creator of EDA .
Currently, this project is accepted in various countries and universities around the world.
Although its application is being developed in 2019, already in 2006 it was considered 'Best Social Project of Innovative Technology by the Instituto de Empresa and the Banesto Cultural Foundation.
After this success, it was developed during the thesis of the UMU professor, evaluated with outstanding cum laude in 2011.
During the presentation day there will be several presentations by teachers from both the UMU and collaborating institutions such as the University of Valencia, UNED and members of the EDA project.
All of them, from different perspectives, will bring the benefits of this scale and its variations closer to other development evaluations.
