The University of Murcia organizes this Friday, April 5, the thirteenth edition of the Popular Race University of Murcia, under the motto 'For Science', which will be developed from 11 am.
The race will have a distance of 3,800 meters that will start at the Monte Romero Athletics Stadium of the Espinardo Campus.
The itinerary of the test will pass through the UMU sports facilities and the Faculties of Education, Social Work, Economy and Business, Mathematics, as well as the library and the general classrooms to finish at the Monte Romero stadium.
This year, in order to emphasize the charitable nature of the race and the commitment to science, a post for the reception of donations will be set up in the same stadium.
All the money collected will go to the association D'Genes, which has research groups focused on the early diagnosis of rare diseases.
The XIII Popular Race is part of the ODSesiones UMU project, which this month is dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goal 3 'Health and wellbeing'.
This activity aims to create healthy habits and encourage sports among the university community and other levels of Secondary Education.
