The Coordinator of NGDO of the Region of Murcia has presented this morning at the Film Library of the Region of Murcia the National Short Film Competition on the Sustainable Development Goals, a contest that has the collaboration of the University of Murcia.
The presentation was attended by the General Director of External Action, European Union and Cooperation of the Region of Murcia, Manuel Pleguezuelo;
the Delegate of the Rector for Social Responsibility and Transparency of the UMU, Longinos Marín;
and with representatives of the jury of the contest as the director of the Regional Film Archive, Ángel Cruz;
the coordinator of the Autonomic Committee of the Region of Murcia, Carolina Galván;
the UMU Audiovisual Media Coordinator, Maite Pellicer;
the renowned professional of audiovisual communication, Juan Poveda, and the president of the NGO coordinator of the Region of Murcia, Moisés Navarro.
Through this 'CortODS' contest, the NGO Coordinator of Murcia aims to collect, through short videos in the format of shorts, those attitudes, initiatives and individual or collective actions that contribute decisively to the fulfillment of the Agenda or of said Objectives and to make visible situations that denounce the breach of any of these SDGs.
The objective of the contest is that the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs have more diffusion among society;
that people know what they are, that they take ownership of the Agenda and endorse it, and also that they try to provide solutions for compliance with the 17 SDGs that the agenda sets out.
The shorts will have to have a maximum duration of 10 minutes and be directed to one of the two themes that arise.
Young people will be able to participate from 14 years old.

The collaboration with the Autonomous Community, the City of Molina de Segura and the ODSesiones project of the University of Murcia has allowed to establish 3 categories of awards (National, Regional and University) each endowed with 600 euros and a special prize of 300 euros contributed by the Regional Film Archive.
In addition, other institutions and organizations such as the Unicef ​​Autonomic Committee of Murcia, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena and the Murcia-based producer Twin Freaks collaborate.
The contest will be valid from April 1 to August 31.
Subsequently, the jury will decide the 3 best films of each category, which will be displayed during the month of September and October at the Regional Film Library before each projected film.
Finally, on October 24th, the award ceremony will be held for the winning short films at the Filmoteca de la Región de Murcia.
