More than 700 people attend the III Exhibition of Corals and Rondallas of the centers of majors that is celebrated yesterday and today in the Theater Circus Murcia, organized by the Council of Social Rights and Development Cooperation, directed by Conchita Ruiz.
This afternoon, from 6:00 pm, the performance of the groups affiliated to the associations of San Juan-Santa Eulalia, El Palmar, Cabezo de Torres, Llano de Brujas and Puente Tocinos will be performed, which will interpret a varied repertoire that will include traditional songs, boleros, pasodobles, waltz, zarzuelas, habaneras, and will conclude, as it happened yesterday, with the joint performance of all the participating groups of Beethoven's "Hymn to Joy".
In the afternoon of yesterday it was the turn of the groups of the social centers of older people of Santiago and Zaraíche, Churra, San Basilio and San Miguel.
The show is the culmination of an activity that takes place throughout the year in the network of municipal centers consisting of the consolidation of stable groups and string and choral music workshops, whose members are partners and partners of the centers.
Throughout the year they act both in their reference place, and in cultural weeks of other centers where they are invited.
The celebration of this exhibition, which this year reaches its third edition, aims to promote and disseminate the work of these groups of corals and rondallas, also enabling the meeting and exchange of experiences between them.
The contest, to which the 76 municipal centers are invited, also makes it possible to promote culture and creative leisure among the elderly through music and singing, and to favor the creation of string and / or choral music groups stable in them and enhance existing ones.
