The municipal plenary session rejected a motion presented by Miguel Ángel Alzamora, of Ahora Murcia for the analysis and subsequent regulation through a municipal ordinance of the service of vehicles of tourism with driver (VTC), with the votes against the Municipal People's Group and Citizens

The councilor for Finance, Recruitment and Urban Mobility, Eduardo Martínez-Oliva, has responded that "the regulation of the VTC is a complicated, conflictive and difficult issue." Mr. Alzamora has requested in his motion one thing (that the City Council regulates through a ordinance this service) and the opposite (that the regional government also regulate the VTC in its territory) ".

"The regulation should not be for each city or each autonomous community, there must be treatment units throughout the national territory," the councilor explained.

According to Martínez-Oliva, "what is not understandable is that Murcia now brings a motion for this administration to regulate this issue, which is not possible as long as the Autonomous Community is not regulated within its powers. they can regulate certain conditions regarding the circulation of the VTCs in their territory that affect the public domain, urban traffic or the protection of the environment, but not the issuance of licenses and their sanctioning regime ".
