The Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, has closed the V Training Course for volunteer monitors of Groups 4-40, in which 24 people have participated.
The aim of this course is to train and motivate participants so that they can energize their groups, thus contributing to its sustainability.
The received training has gathered theoretical-practical aspects about physical activity and healthy lifestyles, recommendations for the regular and adequate practice of physical activity, physical, psychological and social benefits of walking in a group.
After 10 years of the start-up, the Program for the Promotion of physical activity continued promoting self-care and active life.
The evaluation of the 24 people who have taken the course and who actively participate in the groups is very positive, they consider that the training received has provided them with knowledge and tools to continue motivating the members of the groups in the daily practice of physical activity, in the promotion of self-care as a personal capacity to promote health and in the benefits of group walking.
Groups 4-40
This program, created in 2008, is named because the participants practice group sports four days a week for forty minutes each day.
The main objective is to promote the regular practice of moderate physical activity through the constitution and revitalization of groups of adults who are called to walk on routes designed in the vicinity of their home.
Currently there are 23 groups in Murcia and districts with almost 500 people who go for a walk accompanied one day a week by a professional specialist in physical activity and sports.
