The Governing Board has approved this morning the final resolution of subsidies for the promotion of sustainable mobility and energy efficiency of the municipality.

Total aid amounts to 72,819 euros, of which 53,851 will go to the purchase of bicycle or electric car of 40 Murcia and 18,968 euros to improve energy efficiency, use of renewable energy sources or infrastructure installation to recharge vehicles electrical in 12 houses of the municipality.

The objective of this action is to reduce emissions of polluting gases associated with urban activity and is part of the commitments made through the signing of the Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy, through which, the municipality of Murcia will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 40% by 2030.

The subsidies are applicable to residential buildings that incorporate improvements in energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources in lighting, heating, air conditioning and sanitary hot water.

This category includes improvements in the installation of lighting (installation of sensors, replacement of luminaires with other energy saving, etc.), the incorporation of thermal or photovoltaic solar energy or improvement of the thermal insulation of homes, among others.

As for electric vehicles, the aid is intended for direct acquisition or acquisition through financing operations by financial leasing or leasing by renting (also called operating leasing) of a new vehicle.
