This addendum will update the estimated costs and the definition of the actions contemplated up to now

The Council of Ministers, at its meeting today, has authorized the signing of a modifying addendum to the agreement of 2006 for the remodeling of the Railway Arterial Network (RAF) of Murcia, which will make it possible to complete the burial of the railroad in the capital of Murcia.

This addendum will establish the appropriate collaboration mechanisms for the execution of the necessary actions that culminate with the remodeling of the RAF of the city of Murcia, in addition to proceeding to update the commitments acquired in the 2006 agreement. Therefore, It will also include the agreements and agreements reached by the parties from the signing of said document to the present.

The modified document will reflect the commitment of the partners of the Murcia High Speed ​​Society to ensure the implementation of the overall railway integration in the city of Murcia, update the estimated costs and the definition of the actions contemplated in the document signed in June 2006 .

In addition, the addendum will give continuity to the social activity until it has complied with all the financial obligations derived from the implementation of railway and urban integration actions and will allow the sale of land owned by the Company resulting from the divestment of the railway use and transmitted by its shareholders, applying the capital gains to the financing of the actions.

Actions to be executed

The actions to be carried out as a consequence of this agreement, and its corresponding plan of stages, are the following:

1. Remodeling of railway accesses to the city of Murcia through the construction of a layout, adapted to the new railway functionality and the arrival of high speed, which is compatible with the existing network.

It includes the integration of the railway corridor in its urban environment in order to enable the permeabilization of the current layout and release the necessary ground for the realization of the urban operation.

To do this, the railway line will be integrated from the urban core of Nonduermas to the level crossing of Senda de los Garres, in a total area of ​​about 7.04 km, including ramps.

2. Replacement of the current station of Murcia El Carmen by an intermodal station able to meet the foreseeable growth of railway services under appropriate conditions, taking into account the integration of the railway line in the area of ​​the station itself.

3. Enhancement of intermodality of the future station of Murcia El Carmen through the execution of a bus station located near the railway station that can locate its program above ground, sharing plot with the underground parking of the railway station .

The specific elements of the bus terminal will be adequately differentiated in the wording of the project of the bus station, being outside the scope of the addendum the financing of the construction of the same.

The ownership of the bus station will be municipal.

4. Realization of the actions of planning, design and execution of the urban action, as well as its economic-financial evaluation, so that the objectives of improvement of the urban space are combined with the use of the capital gains generated by the future sale of the floors.
