The University of Murcia, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena and the Molina de Segura City Council have signed on Thursday the agreement for the creation of the Interuniversity Open Chair for Innovation and Participation.
It is a project that has the backing and the impulse of the Transparency Council and that intends to establish a space dedicated entirely to the promotion of initiatives of citizen participation, transparency, innovation and reindustrialization of Molina de Segura.
The signing of the agreement has taken place in the Convalecencia, seat of the rectorship of the University of Murcia, and has had the presence of the mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero;
the rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, Alejandro Díaz Morcillo;
José Molina, director of the Council of Transparency;
and the rector of the University of Murcia, José Luján.
The Chair that now starts up will have the work and collaboration of professors, students and professionals from different sectors that will collaborate in the organization of conferences, courses to encourage innovation and the call for awards to enhance citizen participation, among others. many actions
The project was born with an injection of five thousand euros from the City of Molina de Segura and, as the rector of the UPCT recalled, "is open to the participation of other institutions and companies that want to collaborate with the project."
Rector Luján, for his part, thanked the confidence that the City of Molina has placed in the two public universities of the Region and for "having considered us allies to launch this important project."
Luján wanted to highlight especially the role that the Council of Transparency as promoter of this initiative.
The mayor of Molina, Ester Clavero, stressed that "today is an important day because this experience laboratory was born that we had been waiting for so long".
Clavero thanked the commitment of both universities to be involved in this transversal objective of improving the participation of the citizens of Molina and to encourage the reindustrialization of the municipality through innovation.
For his part, José Molina, president of the Council of Transparency, has emphasized the importance of participation in the current municipalism and the importance of initiatives like this to develop this citizen participation.
