The City of Murcia, through the Department of Infrastructure, Public Works and Services directed by Rebeca Pérez, in collaboration with Ferrovial Services, have organized this event that will start at 11:00 am with a family walk, from the station The Ramos - Alquerías until Los Dolores.
It is a 6-kilometer journey, which can be done on foot or by bicycle.
It will last approximately 1 and a half hours, making stops in Torreagüera, Beniaján, San José de la Vega and Los Garres.
Before leaving, at 10:00 am, a chocolate with free churros will be held for all attendees and will end with a party at the Beniaján Station, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
In addition, attendees can get a stamp by participating in at least 5 workshops, and get gifts at the end of the tour.
In this way, Ferrovial Services is present and collaborates raising awareness about the care of the environment and the importance of recycling and keeping the municipality clean.
To carry out this awareness on reducing, recycling and reusing with the little ones, the show of Drilo the Crocodile with its work Drilo will be held at 1:00 pm, it teaches you to Recycle.
Attendees will be presented with a CD of Drilo with songs of environmental theme so that once the show is over they can remember in a didactic and amusing way the importance of recycling and care of the environment.
This CD includes songs that are part of the City Council's educational program and Ferrovial Services such as, Vamos a reciclar, las 3 R's or the paper mill.
At 2:00 p.m. there will be free paella for all participants and at 3:00 p.m. there will be a concert by Los Happys.
As in the latest events organized by the City Council and Ferrovial Services, reusable cups will be distributed free of charge to raise awareness among residents of the need to change consumer habits and reduce the use of plastic containers.
A green lung with 1,800 trees of 25 different species
The municipality gains an abandoned space that will directly benefit the 45,000 people who live in that environment, where from now on they will be able to enjoy the walk or practice sports in a new green lung and a wide leisure area.
The itinerary goes through Alquerías, Los Ramos, Torreagüera, Beniaján, San José de la Vega, Los Garres and Los Dolores.
The new Vía Verde becomes the largest in the Region of Murcia.
With a length of 8.5 km and an area of ​​40,000 square meters, it will cover the districts of the Cordillera Sur, in an accessible route for pedestrians and cyclists, with a width of 5 meters, it will have a naturalized pavement that will be integrated and will mimic the landscape.
Along the length and breadth of the Green Path, 1,800 trees of 25 different species are being planted, among them some large trees such as pines, palms and cypresses.
There will also be fig trees, mulberry trees, pomegranates, almonds, almonds, love trees and acacias from Japan, among other species.
Also, bushes will be placed to give color and aroma to this new natural space.
