The Faculty of Letters of the University of Murcia will dedicate a seminar to the Ibero-American Baroque Heritage during the days 20 and 21 of March.
It is an activity organized by the 'Sumptuary Arts' research group.
The sessions will begin on Wednesday at 11.00 and will take place in the Aulario de La Merced.
During the two days experts from Peru and Mexico will participate in the seminar, as well as specialists from the University of Murcia and other centers such as the University of Seville and the University of Malaga.
The Baroque period is one of the most interesting in history, since it is possibly the first global proposal of a cultural nature.
In recent years, research centers on both sides of the Atlantic focused on artistic culture have advanced considerably in relation to the Baroque period, dealing with aspects of a local nature or defined territories, as well as cross-sectional analysis or interdisciplinary reflections. They have led to a better knowledge of the period.
Within this framework, the proposal of the University of Murcia is framed, taking advantage of the links with Ibero-American networks and institutions, to deepen the advances and trends of research at this time on the Ibero-American Baroque Heritage.
