The new edition of'Femenino Plural' offers seven guided tours to make visible the role of women in the history of Murcia (16/03/2019)

Begins a new edition of the guided tours 'Feminine Plural', organized by the Department of Social Rights Conchita Ruiz directs, which aims to publicize the active role of women in the commercial, labor, political and cultural Murcia, showing their demands, struggles, advances and setbacks.

The Feminine Plural 2019 project presents the biography of some women who have lived in the city of Murcia and although they had a great influence and economic and social power have been relegated to oblivion and made invisible in the story of the history of the city of Murcia.

The councilor Conchita Ruiz explained that "like the previous four editions, the appointment is part of the project that the Department of Social Rights organized in collaboration with the Museum of the city with the aim of expanding and making visible the contribution that women have made to economic, social or political level throughout the historical past, using for it the cultural resources of the municipality ".

All routes will start at 11.30 am and will last approximately one and a half hours with the maximum number of participants being 30.

The first of the routes was held this morning under the name 'Wives, sisters, daughters' and in it the story of Al-Fadilah, sister of the famous King Wolf and the commercial, craft and social life of the Medieval Muslim, Christian and Jewish women in the Islamic neighborhood of Zabala, identified in the environment of the Church of Santa Catalina.

The next route will take place on April 13.

'Owners and heirs' will show the life of Violante de Aragón, María de Molina and Ramoneta de Belloc.

The medieval documentation shows and recognizes the active role of some women in the economy of the city as owners, entrepreneurs and benefactors, as well as the active and decisive role in Kingdom politics.

The places that are visited are Plaza Santa Ana, Santa Clara Museum and Calle de la Aurora.

May 11 will be the turn of 'Queens and mothers of kings' on Doña Juana Manuel, Isabel "La Católica" and Isabel II.

The activity and political influence of the Queens is compatible with the role of art patrons and promoters of culture, having a reflection in the Cathedral of Murcia.

There will be an exterior tour of the Cathedral and a visit to the Cathedral Museum.

The route 'Transmisoras del linaje familiar.

From Luisa Fajardo to Francisca Soto 'will be held on September 21.

The matrimonial alliances within the Murcian nobility make some women transmitters of the family lineage and have their reflection in the urban architecture of Murcia.

The route will cover the Chapel of the Vélez, the Puxmarina Palace and the Palace of the Fontes

On October 19 will talk about 'Crafts and entrepreneurs.

This edition will end on November 30 under the title 'Teachers and teachers.
