The Municipal Socialist Group in the City of Murcia has reiterated on Thursday its criticism of the "very poor mobility for which the Ballesta government is committed", in relation to the lack of a quality public transport network that can give an effective service to the neighbors of the municipality.
"We are talking about an insufferable political neglect, despite the numerous complaints from citizens and opposition groups of the City of Murcia, the PP government has not known or has not wanted to improve mobility in the municipality. it collapses continuously due to the number of vehicles that access it, especially during festive periods such as the Spring Festival that is approaching, "said socialist councilor Juan Vicente Larrosa.
Larrosa regretted that, as a result of a lack of frequency and coordination in public transport, "the use of private vehicles is increasing the risk to the health of Murcia and Murcia with the increase in environmental pollution."
"It is the obligation of the consistory and its leaders, in this case of Ballesta and his team, to respond to this problem." For three years we have sat at a Transportation Bureau that has been a toast to the sun, but not yet a real solution has come to poor transport that does not fulfill its function ".
In this regard, the mayor of the PSOE has denounced the delay that the PP government has taken in the study to develop a transport management model according to the needs of Murcia and has indicated that, "the lack of a specific vision of transport What we want in the municipality is what has ballasted the work of the government of Ballesta, which has tumbled without improving anything. "
For Larrosa, the most bleeding, in addition to the cloud of harmful particles that covers the municipality, is that the shortcomings of public transport are weighing the job opportunities of many Murcia and Murcia who find jobs but have no way to get there in a timely manner to their jobs.
"The same thing happens with those users of Social Services who have to travel to another district to be served by a social worker and who, in many cases, face the problem of lack of lines and frequency of passage in the buses of the municipality, also with young people who depend on public transport to attend their classes or with people with reduced mobility who need to go to their appointments in the health center ".
Finally, Larrosa recalled that the Socialist Group still awaits a response from the Ballesta government on how many VTC vehicle licenses there are in the municipality and how the arrival of this transport will affect the taxi sector.
"The Transport Bureau has not been convened and we are still awaiting a response from the government team on how the entrance of VTCs will influence the general mobility of the municipality," he concluded.
