The Department of Social Rights and Development Cooperation, led by Conchita Ruiz, has organized the III Meeting 'Women of the World, which was held yesterday Saturday at the Puertas de Castilla center.
During the day, two round tables were held.
In the first, on the prevention of gender violence, Juana Herreros, head of the Women's Area of ​​the City Council, spoke;
María Jesús Illán, midwife and responsible for Gender Violence at the Bacons Bridge Health Center and Mambaye Sane of the Kasofor Association.
Consuelo Paterna, vocal of FAAM (Amafrica) was the moderator.
Subsequently the round table took place 'We continue advancing.
Second generations' in which different students and graduates from Ecuador, Morocco and Senegal, have related their experiences of integration in Murcia.
Also, the attendees, including councilor Conchita Ruiz, have seen a screening to raise awareness about the real situation of women in Murcia.
The meeting ended with a popular meal in the Pergola of San Basilio and the activity 'Dances and dances of the world' in which they have performed 'Conquista folklórico' of Ecuador, 'Folklorico Sentir Boliviano' from Bolivia and Diamorai from Senegal.
