The spokesman for Citizens, Mario Gomez, has demanded that the local government comply with the Public Sector Contracts Law regarding the publicity of minor contracts that the municipal administration carries out and that should be published in the profile of the contracting party. on a quarterly basis.
At present, there are about 30,000 minor contracts in the Murcia Consistory, of which, those whose amount is greater than 5,000 euros must be published in the profile of the contractor, however, the vast majority do not meet this legal requirement.
According to Gómez, "this is a serious breach in terms of transparency and integrity in public procurement, not ensuring access to information by any person who wants to learn about it."
In this sense, the spokesman of Cs has highlighted that the Public Sector Contracts Law has supposed "a great advance in the matter of transparency when demanding a greater publicity of the public contracts and of its content".
"This regulation that directly affects contracts of direct award, both works and supplies or services, comes to ensure greater transparency, control and reduction thereof, something that the City does not do, although its obligation is publish them at least quarterly, "said Gomez.
