Councilor for Social Rights and Development Cooperation, Conchita Ruiz, opened yesterday the exhibition 'Barriomar, what we like and what not', in the Municipal Center of Barriomar, organized by the Fundación Secretariado Gitano de Murcia.

In them, activities of diagnosis of needs in the different neighborhoods are carried out to later influence in some way in the reality of the same ones, structured in four phases: diagnosis, elaboration of an action plan, start-up of said plan and evaluation.
"This exhibition is a clear example of the effort the children of the neighborhood have had to show their point of view regarding the streets where they walk, play and live." Through these activities, not only the participation of the children in the neighborhoods is achieved. actions to improve the neighborhood, if not promoting the cultural diversity of children, "said Conchita Ruiz, Councilor for Social Rights and Development Cooperation.
A first sample of these performances is the work, which has been assembled, managed and carried out by the participatory leisure group of this neighborhood, which shows the vision of children about it.
The groups are composed of intercultural minors in the area and work with a methodology focused on child participation and service-learning, promoting the role of the children themselves in the groups.
The exhibition can be visited until March 8 in the auditorium of the Municipal Center.
