The XVIII International Volunteer Show can be visited in the Paseo de Alfonso X until this Sunday
The Catholic University of Murcia has closed today the XVIII International Conference of Charity and Volunteering with lectures given by José Manuel Rodríguez González, director of the Chair of Medicine and Solidarity Surgery of the UCAM and Solidarity Dentistry and José Luis Calvo Guirado, director of the International Chair "Solidarity Research", also from the Catholic University.
Both speakers have highlighted their aid projects in the countries most in need.
On the one hand, José Manuel Rodríguez has developed his surgery program in different regions of Africa.
On the other hand, José Luis Calvo has transmitted the work he will perform, along with five UCAM students, in the less developed areas of Latin America "in collaboration with the University of Bucaramanga, we will help people who have out of the guerrillas of the FARC can have dental prostheses and recover their quality of life, "says the doctor.
Manuel Cabello, a student of dentistry who will travel to Bucaramanga, adds that "when Dr. Calvo proposed this project to us, I could not deny it, it's something that makes me very excited and I'm looking forward to help."
Ecumenical act and agenda
Yesterday, Thursday evening, as part of these days, an ecumenical meeting took place in the parish of San Francisco de Asís de Murcia in the
Representatives of the Catholic, Orthodox, Lutheran, Anglican and Evangelical churches participated.
On the other hand, tomorrow, March 2, the First International Folklore Festival will take place at 7:00 p.m. at the Santa Joaquina de Vedruna School (Carmelitas del Puente).
This event will have the participation of various entities of
Latin America, Africa and Ukraine.
In addition, the XVIII International Volunteer Exhibition, installed in the Paseo de Alfonso X, will remain open until this Sunday, March 3.
