This reconfiguration project will enable multiple points of access to the communications network throughout the city, which will allow the Single Monitoring Center to collect information in real time and facilitate coordination between municipal services to give a greater service to the neighbors of the municipality
The Governing Board has approved the project and specifications for the contracting of the project for the Reconfiguration of the Municipal Optical Fiber Network, within the framework of the Smart City MiMurcia project.
The work has a budget of 500,009.88 euros and a term of execution of 4 months, from the date established as the official start of the works.
The objective of the project is to reconfigure and modernize the existing municipal fiber optic communications network, so that the Murcia Smart City project, which will be coordinated from the Single Monitoring Center, can move forward and offer new services for the residents of the municipality. .
The Single Monitoring Center (CEUS), located on the ground floor of the Abenarabi building, will be the center of operations and control of the city.
This will allow for greater coordination between the different actions of the municipal services, facilitating the interaction between them, and which will result in greater efficiency in the management of the city, since information will be collected in real time, and an better service to the citizen.
The structure and topology of the network will be completely changed, facilitating its shared use with other municipal services, enabling multiple points of access to the network throughout the city.
The nerve center of the city
The room for the Single Monitoring Center will have an area of ​​320 m2, divided into a lobby-showcase area for citizens to observe the operation of this technology, a crisis room and a cold room necessary for the operation of the center. control.
It will also have a system of 66 monitors that will allow unifying the control of services.
CEUS will be the brain of the city, a control center where you can evaluate, decide and execute urgent measures in emergency situations with all the available information, while it will be a space for technological demonstration open to all citizens.
To this end, more than 300 intelligent systems and technological components of the 'MiMurcia' project will be implemented in the coming months, which will entail the extension of WiFi coverage in squares, parks and gardens, panels that report on free parking spaces, steps of smart pedestrians and environmental monitoring stations to measure air quality, among many other anticipated sensorisation actions.
This allows the smart management of cities, the 'Smart' model applied to the public sphere, to put these technological advances at the service of people to improve their quality of life and the benefits of the public services they receive.
