The Training Academy for the new Murcia Firefighters begins (01/03/2019)

The Councilor for Modernization of the Administration and Urban Development, José Guillén, and the Councilor for Traffic and Public Safety, Lola Sánchez, visited this morning the Fire Academy of San Ginés, where 33 candidates start training.

In this way, the City of Murcia is carrying out a selective process to incorporate 30 new firefighters of the SEIS in the official staff of the City Council, included in the Public Employment Offer of 2015.

This part of the process is the penultimate one faced by the aspirants.

This selective training period will last three months, until June.

The last phase consists of an internship, which will take place during the summer months.

The aspirants who obtain better puntacion will choose by order of priority to the vacancies.

With the individualized score of the candidates declared "fit" in the internship period, resulting from the training course, the final qualification will be determined, which will be obtained by adding the final qualifications obtained in the opposition and in the selective course, taking into account account that the opposition phase represents 40% of the total score and the selective course the remaining 60%.

After qualifying the applicants, the court will make public, in order of scoring, the selected list, transferring it to the Personnel service so that it can be submitted to the Local Government Board for the corresponding appointment.

The entire selection process has been conducted and carried out by an independent court composed of officials from three different administrations: Autonomous Community of Murcia, University of Murcia, and Murcia City Council.

In total, 2,292 people were registered to cover 30 firefighter positions.

The academy

During these three months the aspirants will receive a total of 630 hours of training.

Among the contents that will be studied are Organization and personal development;

Salvage and Rescue Operations;

Fire Control and Extinction Operations;

Operations in the event of losses with Natural and Anthropic Risks;

Operations of technical assistance, Use of Operational Resources and Physical Activity.

Thus, they will learn how to act against chemical risk, earthquakes (with search and rescue in collapsed structures), electrical risk or forest fires, among others.
