The plenary session of the City Council held this Thursday has unanimously endorsed the proposal of Cambiemos Murcia to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Antonete Gálvez, an "essential figure" in the history of the municipality for his contribution in favor of regional autonomy within a system federal republican at the end of the 19th century, which culminated in the 1973 Cantonal Rebellion, of which he was the protagonist.
The motion of Cambiemos Murcia proposed to celebrate this event with an institutional act and an exhibition about the life of Gálvez, born in Torreagüera on June 29, 1819, and the historical stage and ideals he defended, as well as the restoration of his home and the implementation of measures for the protection of the San Blas orchard due to its high historical, environmental and landscape value.
It has also gone ahead with the approval of all groups and the incorporation of Now Murcia as a proponent, the initiative of Councilor Margarita Guerrero that included actions aimed at supporting small businesses that, despite being one of the main engines of the fabric business of the municipality and lead the number of contracts in different economic sectors, suffers with great virulence the effects of the crisis in front of large commercial areas.
Likewise, Guerrero's proposal for the installation of a Primary Care Emergency Service (SUAP) in the Puente Tocinos health center, which has been claimed by the public on numerous occasions, and the carrying out of a study to analyze the Sanitary needs of the Murcia East area, which includes, among others, the districts of Alquerías, Beniaján, Puente Tocinos, Llano de Brujas, Monteagudo and Casillas and neighborhoods of the municipality such as El Carmen, Infante or Santiago el Mayor.
The same thing has happened with the motion of Councilman Sergio Ramos so that, in accordance with the Law of Large Cities, the Plenary is the one who decides the way in which the specifications of the contracting of outsourced services will be developed and approved, and not the Governing Board, as has happened so far with "hundreds of contracts" signed by the Consistory in the last four years.
The Tornel initiative to be the City Council, as majority shareholder of Emuasa, who carries out the audit work of the accounts of this entity, and not the private party, Hidrogea, went ahead unanimously, while the one referred to the maintenance of the indoor pool of Bacons Bridge was supported by all formations except the PP, which abstained.
The one that requested the creation of a specific regulation that defines the figures of the official chronicler of the city and of the corresponding one of parish, both picked up at the moment in the Regulation of Honors and Distinctions, that dates from 1967, was retired before the announcement of the group Popular to present an alternative that decaffeinated the meaning of the original motion.
All the joint ones go forward
The four joint motions in which Cambiemos Murcia participated -recognition for the 50 years of operation of the Puente Tocinos Neighborhood Association;
the promotion of the social and solidarity economy;
the attention to homeless people with problems of addiction or mental health and the support to the construction of the bike lane in El Carmen - received the approval of the Plenary session unanimously.
