The event will promote respect and coexistence among the peoples
The Catholic University of Murcia has inaugurated this morning the XVIII International Conference of Charity and Volunteering under the theme 'Integral Ecology and Human Promotion' in the international year of indigenous languages, with the celebration of a Eucharist and the inaugural lesson given by Monsignor Bruno-Marie Duffé, Secretary of the Department for the Integral Human Development Service.
In the opening speech of these days, Monsignor Bruno has highlighted the current challenges for human promotion, based on the Encyclical Laudato Sí, promulgated by Pope Francis.
During his speech, Archbishop Bruno stressed that current problems are based on ethics, and stressed that "it is necessary to listen to the other, go hand in hand, respect life, nature and diversity."
During the conferences framed in these days that will be held until next Sunday, different leaders of indigenous tribes of Latin America such as the Ashénina Ethnic Group, of Peru and the Kichwa Ethnic Group, of Ecuador and African as the Kikuyu and Massai tribes, both of Kenya, will put manifest their culture and their contribution to global development.
International Volunteer Exhibition
Tomorrow Thursday, at 12 noon on the Paseo de Alfonso X in Murcia, will be the inauguration of the XVIII International Volunteer Exhibition, in which more than 80 associations will make known their work to all Murcia.
