The candidate for the mayor of Murcia, has denounced how the municipality proliferate the facilities of the gambling halls, specifically in the municipality of Murcia there are registered 113 gambling halls "with this figure so high, our political responsibility is to create legal mechanisms, both regionally and municipally, to prevent gambling addiction.
Ginés Ruiz has held a working meeting with members of associations and foundations of the fight against addictions in the Region of Murcia, UMAD, where the representatives of Proyecto Hombre, Fundación Diagrama, and AJES attended. During the meeting, Ruíz collected the demands and concerns of these associations working in the Third Sector, specifically in the field of addictions, where the rise of problems related to the game is being very worrying, given the proliferation of the gambling halls and the absence of carrying out legislation that protects young people, people with addiction and minors, susceptible to being victims of gambling.
The candidate for mayor of Murcia de Podemos, said that "there is a political responsibility that Ballesta has eluded that has eluded, when the gambling halls proliferate in the city without complying with the regulation that prevents the concentration of these premises, or its installation in places of special risk such as near educational centers and health centers ".
As from Podemos Murcia, we will work, from the political and in collaboration with expert associations in this type of addictions so that from the public administration and more specifically from the City to promote prevention and awareness campaigns focused on potentially vulnerable consumers , avoid the promotions of sporting events by game companies and above all work in prevention to avoid gambling and the serious psychological and economic consequences that derive from it ".
