The councilor of Cambiemos Murcia, Margarita Guerrero, will take to next Thursday's plenary session a motion to support small businesses with measures such as the creation of a quality seal and the extension of tax credits.
Guerrero has highlighted the role of traditional commerce in neighborhoods and districts, while regretting that it is this who, despite being the engine of the business fabric and the one with the highest number of hiring, suffers with greater virulence the crisis compared to the large Business.
For this reason, he has insisted on the importance of the City Council promoting effective measures that help small businesses and encourage purchases in these establishments.
In this sense, he has proposed to the government team that in the next fiscal ordinances analyze the possibility of expanding the bonuses received by traditional businesses and create, together with the Local Council of Commerce, a seal of quality.
It has also raised the need to launch campaigns to raise awareness and promote responsible consumption, and conduct a study on the situation of commercial property rentals, in order to introduce improvements that help the sector and protect it from speculation.
Evaluation of the measures implemented
Guerrero has also referred in his motion to the current measures in support of retail trade and, in this regard, has requested that a real evaluation of the impact of them be carried out.
"It is convenient to evaluate if the current aid system is really being effective to analyze the margins of improvement, all within a global strategy that contemplates a battery of measures designed for this purpose".
In addition, he recalled that Murcia Change has repeatedly requested within the Council the preparation of reports detailing the impact on retail of the inclusion of a part of the municipality within the Zone of Great Tourist Inflow.
This measure led to an increase in the number of holidays in which businesses can open their doors.
